Baylor coach Hot Board: The top candidates to replace Dave Aranda

Baylor fired head coach Dave Aranda on Sunday after a loss at Kansas on Saturday. Aranda was 40-40 in his seventh season at Baylor. He won a Big 12 title in 2022, but he couldn’t get back to that level.

Who will Baylor hire now? All eyes turn to Jeff Traylor, who has UTSA atop the American Conference. Texas State coach G.J. Kinne also would be a strong candidate. The Bears should inquire about New Mexico coach Jason Eck, though he may have a lot of options when more jobs open. LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. is another potential option.

Also, if things go south at USC for Lincoln Riley, heading back to the Big 12 might be an attractive option.
