Cooper Flagg Is Doing One Thing for the Dallas Mavericks That Could Put Him in Elite NBA Company

The Dallas Mavericks’ Cooper Flagg looks like a different player through two NBA preseason games against the Houston Rockets, getting to the free throw line 8 times in 25 minutes and looking more comfortable on defense. Is a year 2 leap coming for Cooper Flagg alongside Kyrie Irving, and is Max Christie playing his way into the Mavs starting lineup?

Nick Angstadt is joined by Isaac Harris and Slightly Biased for a One More Thing breaking down Cooper Flagg’s preseason, Max Christie’s aggressive drives, and whether the Mavs targeted Zaccharie Risacher or simply grabbed an opportunity. The crew debates what Mavs GM Mike Schmitz and head coach Dusty May value next to Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg, and how PJ Washington fits into it. They also cover Dwight Powell’s roster spot, a possible Caleb Martin salary dump, Daniel Gafford trade talk, and the Thunder vs. Spurs debate.
