Top Tennis Forehand Drills Alone
Tennis
Top 8 drills to improve your forehand alone:
1. Contact point - stand next to the net or back curtain and find the optimum place where you feel strongest in front of you and to the side and push through it with your body and hand.
2. Topspin - on the wall or curtain rotate your wrist allowing the ball to roll up and down on your racket training your wrist for ultimate topspin generation.
3. Hitting zone - self feed the ball and find your hitting zone that you can extend through with your shot for cross court and down the line shots.
4. Wide ball - feed the ball out wide then move to middle and out again this is to recreate pushing out after recovering into the ball and makes it feel more realistic.
5. Short and deep - feed alternate balls where you have to move forward to get the ball and hit a lower flatter shot and move back to make space hitting more height and depth.
6. Inside Out - feed a wide forehand filled by a ball to your backhand that you have to use your forehand on so making space to hit it.
7. Low balls - stand close to the net and feed low balls to yourself to use your wrist and forearm to generate a fast racquet head to lift the ball up over the net and down into the court.
8. High ball drive volley - feed yourself high balls you have to drive up to and flatten out, this will help you in putting short balls away in rallies as well as drive volleys when you come forward. Focusing on maximum body rotation and long extension through the shot.
