How Novak Djokovic finally won gold at his fifth Olympic Games ⬇️
An accomplishment described by the man himself as the “pinnacle of my career”, Novak Djokovic achieved a lifelong ambition when he won tennis singles gold at Paris 2024 at the fifth time of asking.
Long-awaited gold came 16 years after the Serbian made his Olympic debut at Beijing 2008, winning bronze at the age of 21.
Djokovic’s quest continued as he competed at London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 but a string of near-misses and heartbreaks along the way meant the top spot on the podium still eluded him.
Finally, at Paris 2024 and aged 37, the 24-time Grand Slam champion beat Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets in the final to claim Olympic gold at long last.
The jewel in the crown of a legendary tennis career ✨
