The Virginia Cavaliers lost a heartbreaker to the UMBC Retrievers, 61-56. Heidi Williams knocked down 4 foul shots in the final 10 seconds to secure the win for UMBC. It was the first win over a power four opponent in the Retrievers' program history. Breona Hurd paced the Cavaliers with a career-high 22 points on 7-10 shooting to go along with 4 blocked shots in the loss. Williams and Gabby Scott each scored 14 points to lead UMBC in the win.
