A Letter to Chicago from Tim Anderson (2026)

"To White Sox fans and the City of Chicago,

I'm grateful.

To the organization that made me, to the city that welcomed me, and to the entire family of South Side fans who embraced me and all the parts of me who are different.

When I came to Chicago, I was just a kid from Alabama chasing a dream. Jerry Reinsdorf and the White Sox took a chance on me, and the fans welcomed me as one of their own from day one.

I know how lucky I am. Growing up wasn't easy, and wearing a White Sox uniform gave me an opportunity for something special in Chicago. It gave me a chance to experience a life I never dreamed was possible. The walk-offs, the bat flips, the celebrations, the Field of Dreams game. All memories I'll carry with me forever.

More than anything, I'll remember the fans and the people of Chicago who made me feel at home. I was a better baseball player and stronger man because of the love you showed me.

Thank you for believing in me, supporting me and giving me the chance to live my dream in a White Sox uniform.

It has been my honor to be a member of the Chicago White Sox, to play for the South Side and to represent this city.

The White Sox will always be in my heart.
