The SMU Mustangs came out on a mission and earned a trip to the ACC Men's Soccer Championship game with their 5-1 win over the Syracuse Orange. Mukisa Emmanuel got the scoring started for the Mustangs with a powerful shot off of a great setup by Jaylinn Mitchell. On the next goal, Mitchell sent a tremendous cross to Ryan Clanton-Pimentel for the blast to give them a 2-0 lead late in the first half. The Ponies' third goal came off of a set piece that saw Slade Starnes deliver a perfect header to Charles-Emile Brunet for the rocket shot. Stephan Soghomonian made goal No. 4 look easy off the pass from Clanton-Pimentel before a final nasty move by Clanton-Pimentel freed him up to drop the dime to Landan Hickman for goal the Mustangs final tally of the night.
