Bay FC and Portland Thorns FC fought back-and-forth before settling on a 2-2 draw, with the result all the more important in the race for the playoffs.
Birthday girl Morgan Weaver opened the scoring for Portland in the 10th minute before Caroline Conti brought Bay FC back level on the 33rd minute after Karlie Lema won the ball back deep in the attacking third.
Into the second half, Bay then took the lead as Kennedy Fuller produced a bit of individual magic, nutmegging her defender on the run before lifting a calm finish over Portland goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold in the 67th minute. However, the Thorns' push for a late equalizer would pay off through Caiya Hanks, who showed her own quality in finding a goal from a tight angle in the 86th minute to rescue a point for Portland.
