The Dallas Stars are back on the road (briefly) for a two-game trip East (and then another four-game home stand to follow). Tonight, the Stars make their final visit to Washington, D.C. of the hall-of-fame career of Alex Ovechkin, who will retire after this season (his 22nd in the NHL). Dallas got back to winning ways in their last outing, a 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets to wrap up their six-game home stand with a 4-2-0 record. Now they play the Capitals tonight (6 p.m. CT) and then head to Columbus for a rematch on Thursday night. Radek Faksa returns to action after missing the last four games due to injury and the Stars are mixing up their forward lines (as we discussed on yesterday’s DLLS Stars Podcast). The Capitals are coming off a 5-1 home loss to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, but they have been good lately, going 5-2-0 in their last seven games after a 3-3-0 start to the year. Washington is currently being led by a different Alex than usual in the goal scoring department; for Vegas Golden Knight and Buffalo Sabre Alex Tuch has 10 goals in his first 13 games as a Capital. On tonight’s DLLS Stars Pregame Show, we will discuss all the big storylines, hear from Washington head coach Spencer Carbery, we will take a look at the expected lineups and get you ready for puck drop at Capital One Arena. Expected starting goaltenders: Jake Oettinger (DAL) vs. Logan Thompson (WSH).
