Carson Spiers reached an important milestone in his recovery Monday, making his first rehab appearance with High-A Dayton since undergoing Tommy John surgery in July 2025.
The Reds right-hander allowed two runs on three hits over 3 2/3 innings, striking out four without issuing a walk. He threw 48 of his 66 pitches for strikes.
Spiers was designated for assignment by Cincinnati following his surgery before re-signing with the organization on a minor-league deal. The 28-year-old has made 29 major-league appearances across three seasons, pitching both as a starter and out of the bullpen.
After a lengthy rehabilitation process, Monday marked Spiers’ return to game action and another significant step in his recovery.
