I've done almost 200 drafts this preseason and the same mistake happens in every single one. Someone is on the board in round six or round seven, they see Caleb Williams or Trevor Lawrence sitting there, and they think that is a good time to go get their quarterback.

Not you. You're a scholar. You're going to learn from those mistakes and wait as long as possible at QB, and you're not going to be afraid to be the last person in your league to take one.

I'm not saying guys like Caleb and Justin Herbert won't have good seasons. The problem is the opportunity cost, with great running backs and receivers still on the board. That cost is nowhere near as steep in round 13, where you will regularly see Brock Purdy, Bo Nix and Jared Goff slide. Proven QB1 upside at a fraction of the cost, surrounded by players we want nothing to do with.
