‘It shows what a good owner can do’
Coventry City are going back to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years. They secured promotion by drawing 1-1 with Blackburn over the weekend.
In the quarter of a century they have been away from the top flight, they have been relegated twice, had to groundshare twice, and have had a change of ownership.
Their owner, Doug King, made the difficult decision to sack Mark Robins, the long-serving manager who guided them back into the Championship from the depths of League Two, and hire Frank Lampard, who has now led them into the Premier League.
The Football Weekly panel reflect on the club’s monumental achievement.
