Sergio De Larrea Explains Why Now Is the Right Time to Join the Dallas Mavericks

New Dallas Mavericks guard Sergio De Larrea explains why now is the right time to jump from Europe to the NBA and how he sees his playmaking role with the Mavs in the 2026-27 season. What has the Spanish point guard learned trying to guard Kyrie Irving, and what impresses him most about Cooper Flagg's ability to create shots?

Nick Angstadt and Isaac Harris sit down with Sergio De Larrea at Mavs Media Day to find out the real story behind his "Larry" nickname. The Valencia native explains why he studied Luka Doncic's game since watching him star at Real Madrid, and shares the advice Santi Aldama has given him so far. He also talks about his first impressions of Dallas, his love of cooking, and being his own barista.
