De Zerbi: Archie Gray Is the Future of Tottenham | PRESS CONFERENCE

Roberto De Zerbi says Tottenham's young players should remove all social media and stay focused, because "one day you are top and the day after you can't play". In the embargoed section of his press conference, he also explains what was different about the meeting before Manchester United, and why Archie Gray is "the future of this club".

On young players, De Zerbi says the criticism online is often too tough for them to handle, and describes his role as a coach, big brother and father. He also says Luca faces a big test in a tough atmosphere, and can grow from it.

He goes deeper than ever on the Old Trafford meeting: the stats were good, but the belief and connection with the players weren't, so everyone had to "remove the mask". He says he doesn't believe in robots, names Robertson, Maddison, Solanke, Tosin, Van Hecke and Tonali as great people, and calls the red card at United "very important". His dream is for people to say Tottenham play with passion and "hot blood".

He also responds to Vinai's comments about ambition and culture, says the decision on Pedro Porro is about fitness, not tactics, and praises Archie Gray as a leader who can play anywhere.
