Ryan Leslie on McKenna's JAM, Cowan's Rise, Raddysh & Leafs Optimism

Ryan Leslie joined Nick Alberga & Jay Rosehill to discuss all the latest storylines surrounding the Maple Leafs.

The longtime Leafs team host shared his thoughts on the blockbuster Brady Tkachuk trade to the Florida Panthers and why he wasn't surprised to see Florida make another aggressive move.

Leslie also discussed the current vibe around the Maple Leafs, explaining why there's plenty of intrigue and optimism surrounding the organization as it enters a new era under John Chayka and Jim Hiller.

Fresh off the NHL Draft Combine in Buffalo, Leslie reflected on his time around projected No. 1 pick Gavin McKenna, along with Ivar Stenberg and Chase Reid. He came away impressed with all three prospects, especially McKenna's competitiveness and edge, saying he has the type of jam every organization would love to add.

The conversation also touched on the Toronto Marlies' Calder Cup championship run, Easton Cowan's continued development, and the culture that helped power the Marlies to a title. Leslie praised the buy-in throughout the organization and spoke glowingly about Cowan's character and potential.

Additionally, he weighed in on the Maple Leafs' acquisition of Toronto native Darren Raddysh, sharing that everyone he's spoken to has had great things to say about the 30-year-old defenceman. He also discussed how playing in Toronto has become a much more attractive destination for local players than it may have been in the past.

Finally, Leslie talked about his excitement to work alongside many of the new faces joining the organization and why he's looking forward to what's ahead for the Maple Leafs.
