Learner Tien Admits He Used to Think Tennis Was Boring | The Big T

Learner Tien is one of the brightest young stars in American tennis — but he has a surprising confession: he never actually enjoyed watching the sport.

On Episode 61 of The Big T Podcast, Learner joins Nick Monroe and reveals why he used to find tennis boring, particularly the long changeovers between games. Ironically, now that he's competing on the ATP Tour himself, he's come to appreciate those very same breaks.

The rising American also shares the advice he'd give his younger self, the competitive mindset that drives him, and the values his parents instilled in him that helped shape his career.

Plus, Learner fires back at Frances Tiafoe with some hilarious friendly banter.

An entertaining look at the personality and mentality behind one of tennis's most promising young talents.
