EMILY IN JERSEY: Jake Allen on Family, 500 Games and Giving Back

Jake Allen is Emily Haydel’s first guest on Emily in Jersey, a new Devils podcast about the players’ lives away from the rink.

Recorded ahead of his 500th NHL game, the conversation covers the relationships that have shaped Jake’s career, raising three daughters and seeing hockey through their eyes. He also shares the story behind Program 34, his wife Shannon’s work with Operation Shower and why stepping onto the Hockey Night in Canada set was the most nervous he’s ever been.

Then Emily puts him through “Block or Not,” with questions about talking before a period, watching K-pop with his daughters after a road trip and taking his broadcasting talents to the Oscars.

The episode also introduces Emily and her plans for the show, with a look ahead to Devils K-pop Night October 22 against Anaheim.
