The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Kansas City Royals 4-3 at PNC Park on September 20, 2026. Rafael Flores Jr. delivered the biggest swing of the game, launching a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning and punctuating it with a bat flip to give the Pirates the lead. Mason Montgomery took over out of the bullpen and closed out the game to earn the save. With the late power from Flores and a strong finish from Montgomery, the Pirates secured the victory and completed the series sweep over Kansas City.
