The North Carolina Tar Heels had little trouble getting past in-state rival Elon, 71-37. Indya Nivar led the Heels with 13 points on 6-13 shooting to go along with 7 rebounds and 3 assists in the win. Lanie Grant added 11 points while Nyla Brooks, Taliyah Henderson, and Nyla Harris each added 10 points for Courtney Banghart's club. The UNC defense held the Phoenix to 29% shooting from the floor and scored 28 points off of 27 Elon turnovers.
