Adam Fantilli is locked in. The Blue Jackets signed their young center to a 6-year, $82.5 million contract, worth $13.75M a year. His bags had been packed by the door all through training camp. On signing day he drove straight to Columbus with his mom.
At his press conference, Fantilli talks about:
• Leaving the negotiations to his agent, and what he learned about the business side of hockey
• How hard it was to miss the start of training camp: "I just miss the guys. I miss the city, I miss the fans."
• Missing the playoffs the last two seasons: "It's non-negotiable this year."
• Wanting to be used in all situations, and taking on the bigger expectations that come with the deal
• Why six years in Columbus is a commitment to the team, the city and his teammates
After the presser, Bob McElligott reads your reactions to the signing. Tell us what you think of the deal in the comments.
