De Zerbi: Van de Ven, Tonali and Tel All Played Their Best Games | Press Conference

Roberto De Zerbi's press conference after Tottenham beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge: he reveals how a team meeting before Old Trafford, "removing the mask and speaking honestly", changed Spurs' season, and says Micky van de Ven just played his best game under him.

De Zerbi says Spurs played very well for 90 minutes and showed "something different than Tottenham in the last period: different attitude, different relationships, different group." He singles out Mateus Fernandes and Mathys Tel as two of the best players on the pitch, says Archie Gray is "younger, but older as a mentality", and gives an update on [PLAYER]: "He's a special player for us. We need him."

On the Stamford Bridge record, he says it was "the last problem we thought about before the game", and that the club is working to change its mentality. He agrees Cole Palmer could have been sent off for his first booking, praises his players for fighting without crossing the line, and admits Spurs suffered too much in the first half despite dominating the ball.

Seven points from three games, but he's keeping everyone grounded: "We didn't win nothing." He also has big praise for Van Hecke, Tonali ("the best game in his time in Tottenham") and the two wingers, Kudus and Tel, who he says made the difference.
