West Georgia vs. Georgia Tech: On March 10, 2026, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets played host to West Georgia and came away with a 14-0 win in seven innings. While it may look like just a normal win for a powerhouse Georgia Tech team, the game will be remembered as one where top MLB draft prospect Vahn Lackey played eight different defensive positions and was a single shy of hitting for the cycle. Lackey, normally a catcher, became the first Georgia Tech player to play eight defensive positions in a game, and is the first ACC player to do so since Buster Posey played all nine positions in 2008. At the plate, Lackey was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk to go with two RBI and two runs scored. Fellow top prospects outfielder Drew Burress and second baseman Jarren Advincula also had standout performances. Burress went 2-2 with two walks, a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored.
