Angel City FC defeated the Washington Spirit, 1-0, on the road thanks to an 88th minute strike from Angel City's Maiara Niehues that found the top corner and ended up the difference maker. A tight game from start to finish, the two sides dealt with pouring rain that affected game play through the first half. Both halves brought chances, but right when momentum was needed, Niehues pulled up from just outside the box and produced a fantastic dipping strike that painted the top corner on its way in. The goal propelled Angel City to all three points in a crucial win in the playoff race.
