Episode 67: Hellebuyck, Schaefer, & Shesterkin | Tri-State Hockey Podcast

Connor Hellebuyck makes his New Jersey Devils debut, Semyon Varlamov celebrates an emotional return to the win column, and the New York Rangers continue to face tough questions without Igor Shesterkin on Episode 67 of the Tri-State Hockey Podcast!

Jonny Lazarus, Mike Rupp, and Arthur Staple kick things off with Hellebuyck's impressive Devils debut against the Dallas Stars. The guys discuss New Jersey's dominant performance, Luke Hughes' continued emergence, and whether the Devils still need to pursue Quinn Hughes with his younger brother playing some of the best hockey of his career.

On Long Island, Semyon Varlamov earns his first win in nearly two years as the Islanders survive a blown 3-0 lead against Nashville. The guys discuss Varlamov's remarkable comeback, Matthew Schaefer's massive workload, and whether the Islanders can sustain their success with such a thin margin for error.

Finally, the Rangers are under the microscope following a rough stretch without Shesterkin. Is New York really built around its goaltender, or are the team's problems rooted in roster construction? The guys debate Shesterkin's $11.5 million contract, the Rangers' defensive struggles, and what needs to change moving forward.

Plus, listener voicemails, potential Hughes brothers reunions, Islanders lineup decisions, and much more!
