After 17 years as an NHL broadcaster, my team decided not to renew my contract. Here's what's next.

This is the first thing I've made for Clear Breakaway, a new online platform built on the idea that sports content shouldn't just be one announcer talking at the masses. I'll have opinions. I'd rather have a conversation. Hockey, baseball, football, basketball and sports in general are all on the table.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who reached out. It truly means the world to me. I also explain where the name Clear Breakaway comes from, what I'm building, and how excited I am to announce the first piece: a twice-weekly podcast with Aaron Portzline of The Athletic, starting this week. Training camp is open, there's a lot to get into. More to come in the next couple of weeks.
