Gretchen Walsh continues to dazzle in the 100 fly, which has truly become *her* event. She recorded a 55.00 to take the win at the Indianapolis Pro Swim, the 5th fastest performance ever, and somehow it felt... normal. While Walsh was happy with the swim, she is always chasing more. A best time, a world record... a new barrier.
Walsh admitted that at some point in the future, after she's already become the first and only woman to break the 55-second barrier, she wants to become the first woman to break the 54-second barrier. And to be honest, watching the trajectory she's on, it feel like it's not a matter of if, but when.
