Mike Thomas is a second-generation PGA professional and longtime head pro at Harmony Landing Country Club in Goshen, Kentucky. His father Paul played the 1962 US Open. In this clip he explains why he takes students onto the golf course instead of the range, and why he would almost rather watch them play poorly: better players shoot lower than they should, everyone else shoots higher, and the difference is course management, decision making, and how a player reacts to a bad shot.
