Fueling for long runs is one of the most misunderstood parts of endurance training. Eat too little and you bonk, eat too much and, well, you've seen the videos. In this episode of the Swiss Alps 100 series, I take you along for a 3-hour training run in the Texas heat where I break down my exact fueling strategy and the reasoning behind every choice, including why heat and humidity make the whole equation even trickier. I cover the dos and don'ts of run nutrition, why a sensitive stomach changes everything when the temperature climbs, and why the longer your race, the more critical it is to find a strategy that works *for you* — because what works for someone else might end your day. After the run, we hit In-N-Out, and I share a surprising University of Montana study showing that fast food like a DQ Blizzard or McDonald's can actually outperform traditional recovery nutrition thanks to higher sodium content and the simple fact that you'll actually eat it when your body is screaming for calories.
