The Golden State Valkyries are back in the WNBA playoffs. Golden State clinched its second straight postseason appearance with a 78-70 win over the Dallas Wings at Chase Center, improving to 25-9 and becoming the third team in the league to punch its playoff ticket this season.
Gabby Williams led the way with 23 points, while Veronica Burton added 16. Tiffany Hayes and Janelle Salaün each chipped in 10 as Golden State built a 16-point halftime lead and largely cruised from there, holding off a late push from Dallas that trimmed the final margin under double digits.
In just its second season, Golden State now sits second in the WNBA standings behind only Minnesota. The Valkyries reached the playoffs as the No. 8 seed last season before being swept by the Lynx in the first round, and this year's clinch comes far earlier as the team looks to build on last year's postseason experience.
