Algeria’s Kaylia Nemour’s journey in gymnastics began in France at 4 years old but quickly progressed. In 2023, she won silver at the World Championships in Antwerp. At Paris 2024, she made history by winning the gold medal on the uneven bars with 15.700 points. This was the first Olympic gold medal for Algeria in artistic gymnastics and the first for an African gymnast. Nemour, who previously competed for France, had switched her sporting citizenship to Algeria due to differences with the French Gymnastics Federation.
