Fischer reported that D’Angelo Russell, Walter Clayton Jr., Jordan Hawkins and Kris Murray are among the players who could be waived as Memphis makes its final roster decisions.

Russell is the veteran name who immediately jumps off the page. He’s a former All-Star and has averaged 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.6 assists over his NBA career. Last season, he averaged 10.2 points and 4.0 assists in 26 games.

Miami has been looking for additional ball-handling and guard depth, so Russell’s ability to create offense and handle the basketball could make him an intriguing option.
