The Golden State Valkyries kept rolling despite a rash of injuries, cruising past the Chicago Sky 91- 71 for their fifth consecutive win. With Kiah Stokes and Janelle Salaün sidelined, Golden State leaned on speed and pressure, racing to 15 fast break points, 42 points in the paint, and a franchise record 16 steals against an undersized frontcourt disadvantage.
Tiffany Hayes delivered her best game of the season, scoring a season-high 22 points to go with five assists and six rebounds. Gabby Williams made a statement against her former team, finishing with 13 points and three steals, while Veronica Burton added 13 points and six rebounds. Kaila Charles chipped in 11 off the bench as Golden State pulled away in the second half behind a pair of Kaitlyn Chen threes to close the third quarter.
With Stokes out and the center rotation reshuffled, Ashten Prechtel and Laeticia Amihere both saw extended run, with Prechtel doing solid work defending Chicago's Kamilla Cardoso, who still finished with 20 points and six rebounds. The win pushes Golden State to 24- 9, surpassing last season's win total while holding the second-best record in the WNBA. The Valkyries host Dallas next.
