Is There Such a Thing as Too Many Elephants?

This topic is a constant on every wildlife ecologist and/or conservationist as they look at large megaherbivores like elephants. The topic is tied specifically to - there has to be a finite number of elephants in areas that are fenced. With limited immigration and immigration, limited connectedness between habitats - elephants cannot move around and can't move with predicted rainfall patterns.

Are elephant populations becoming too big as constrained by the areas in which they live? Are they absolutely destroying all of the habitats?

Dr. Sam Ferreira addressing this very issue in this clip. If you want to watch his entire podcast - find it on our new YouTube channel @TheOriginsFoundationPodcast - go !
