A second-round pick in 2024, Jenkins has shown flashes as a run defender and rotational interior lineman, but he has yet to develop into the disruptive three-down force Cincinnati hoped for when it drafted him. Through his first two seasons, he improved statistically, but his pass-rush production and overall impact have remained inconsistent.

The biggest factor is roster construction. The Bengals dramatically upgraded their defensive front by acquiring Dexter Lawrence and adding veteran talent around him, creating a crowded defensive tackle room. With Lawrence, established veterans, and other contributors competing for snaps, Jenkins could find himself lower on the depth chart than expected for a recent second-round selection.

From Cincinnati's perspective, trading Jenkins could help recover draft capital while capitalizing on the league-wide belief that he still possesses upside. Some analysts have suggested that teams that graded him highly coming out of college could view him as a worthwhile reclamation project and potentially offer a mid-round draft pick in return.

That said, a trade is far from certain. Jenkins is only 24 years old, has nearly 1,000 career defensive snaps, and remains a developmental player with room to grow.
