Tobin Heath Gets Her Roses on a Special Night in Portland

Portland Thorns FC celebrated club legend Tobin Heath with a special pre-match ceremony at Providence Park, honoring one of the most decorated and influential players in women’s soccer history.

Heath signed a one-day contract to officially retire as a member of the Thorns, the club she represented from 2013-2020. During her time in Portland, Heath helped the Thorns win two NWSL Championships (2013, 2017) and the 2016 NWSL Shield, while becoming the club’s all-time regular-season assist leader.

A two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist with the U.S. Women’s National Team, Heath finished her international career with 181 appearances, 36 goals and 42 assists. She was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2026.
