The Dallas Stars will open the 2026-27 season against the St. Louis Blues tonight at American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas. The game is starting later than normal (8 p.m. CT) because it is a national TV broadcast on TNT and HBO Max. The Stars are looking to get off to another quick start to the season, as the team has aspirations of avenging last year’s first round playoff exit and to challenge for the Stanley Cup again this year. In fact, the players have said that anything shy of winning the Stanley Cup this year will be a disappointment. The Blues got off to a poor start last year, winning just three of their first 12 games, and were chasing the playoff picture all season. A massive surge in March (10-2-3, 0.767) got them back to 0.500, but even posting the best record in the NHL from March 1st through the end of the regular season was not enough, as they finished four points out of the second wild card spot. On tonight’s DLLS Stars Pregame Show, we will discuss all the big storylines, Sam Nestler will report live from the AAC, we will take a look at the expected lineups and get you ready for puck drop in Dallas. Expected starting goaltenders: Jake Oettinger (DAL) vs. Joel Hofer (STL).
