Champions Carrying West Africa — Exit Interview with Amihere & Gueye

The Golden State Valkyries are WNBA champions, and Laeticia Amihere and Aminata Gueye aren't done yet. In their exit interviews, the two young forwards look back on a title run nobody saw coming and say plainly that they want to feel it again. Ami talks about weathering an up-and-down role, her big Game 6 in the Finals, and why she just wants to win. Gueye, who went from her first WNBA game to a championship in about six weeks, says she still hasn't had time to process it. They also open up about representing West Africa and the diaspora in Oakland, and what they learned from the veterans. There's the inside story on the pregame dance circles (tip: don't make eye contact with KT), plus shout-outs to the coaches who poured into them.
