Ahead of this year’s NWSL semifinals, we’re taking a look back at our interview with María Sánchez from November of 2024. Maria spoke with Tobin and Christen about her family’s journey from Mexico to Idaho, having to sneak out of the house to play soccer as a kid, getting a once-in-a-lifetime chance to try out for (and make) the Mexican National Team, signing one of the biggest contracts in NWSL history, becoming a role model for up and coming female soccer players and so much more. Maria currently plays with Tigres in Liga MX Feminil and represents Mexico internationally.
