Cam Myers ran 3:28.00 to win the Paris Diamond League 1500m — a personal best by over a second, the 27th-fastest time in history, and only the second sub-3:29 ever run by a 20-year-old.
The 20-year-old Australian is now faster than Jakob Ingebrigtsen was at the same age. At 19 years and 11 months, Jakob ran 3:28.68 in Monaco. At 20 years and 0 months, Cam ran 3:28.00 in Paris. The only runner in history to go faster before turning 21 is Phanuel Koech.
He did it from the front. Splits of 55.6, 1:52.5, 2:47.4, 3:28.00, with each 100m segment after 800m between 13.8 and 13.4 — a sustained surge rather than a pure last-lap sprint. He soloed the second half alone, in a field that included 3:27 man Azeddine Habz, 2025 World silver medalist Jake Wightman, and Reynold Cheruiyot.
Plus a preview of the Pre Classic Bowerman Mile, which is now genuinely stacked — Myers, Yared Nuguse, Habz, Laros, Cole Hocker returning from injury, both Cheruiyots, Hobbs Kessler, Simeon Birnbaum, Ethan Strand, and others.
