Could Nikola Jovic be one of the biggest bounce-back candidates on the Miami Heat this season? 👀🔥
In today’s episode of Miami Heat Talk, we’re taking a deep dive into Nikola Jovic and whether he can put together a major bounce-back season in 2026.
Jovic showed plenty of promise during his third season, averaging over 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game while shooting 37% from three-point range. But this past season was a completely different story. His production dropped to just 7.3 points per game, while his three-point shooting fell all the way to 27%.
However, there’s an important piece of the story that can’t be ignored: Jovic’s playing time dropped from roughly 25 minutes per game to just 17 minutes per game.
Now, the Miami Heat’s roster has changed dramatically.
With Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis and Kel’el Ware no longer taking those opportunities, could Jovic finally have the freedom, minutes and responsibility to show Heat fans what he’s capable of?
We’re talking about his offensive potential, his shooting, playmaking, confidence, increased opportunity and what his role could look like moving forward.
And there’s another reason for optimism.
Heat fans saw what happened with Jaime Jaquez Jr. After his sophomore slump, plenty of people questioned whether he could get back to the player we saw during his rookie season. He responded by having a tremendous bounce-back campaign and finishing second in Sixth Man of the Year voting.
Could Nikola Jovic follow a similar path?
