Steelers DL Derrick Harmon says former Bengals defensive tackle and current Pittsburgh assistant Domata Peko had some extra motivation ahead of Sunday’s matchup with Cincinnati.
According to Harmon, Peko spoke to the Steelers about the way his 11-year run with the Bengals ended after the 2016 season. Harmon claimed that the Bengals didn't offer him another contract "because he was old."
“They did him wrong, and I was happy that we was able to do that for him. Because I look up to Coach.”
Peko spent 11 seasons in Cincinnati before finishing his NFL career with Denver, Baltimore and Arizona.
Harmon says Peko’s message to the Steelers was simple: get this win for him, too. 👀
