HIGHLIGHTS: Sky See Five Players in Double Figures in 95-88 Victory Over Sparks

The Chicago Sky defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 95-88 on their home court on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The Sky are now 12-19 on the season, 10-10 against the Western Conference, 8-8 at home and 21-32 against the Sparks all time.

Veteran Natasha Cloud delivered an impressive all-around performance, scoring 15 points and dishing out nine assists – tying her season high. She’s averaging 6.1 dimes per game since being inserted into the starting lineup on July 7, a period in which the Sky are 6-5.

Five Sky players scored in double figures tonight, showcasing the team’s balanced offensive attack. Three players shared the team-high with 15 points, led by Cloud, Kamilla Cardoso, and Jacy Sheldon. Cardoso added seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in another strong versatile performance, while Sheldon finished with a season-high 15 points, three assists, two blocks and a steal, making her presence felt on both ends of the floor.

In her fourth consecutive start, rookie Aicha Coulibaly posted 13 points, three rebounds and a steal while shooting 80% from the field and sinking all five of her free throws. Elizabeth Williams scored a season-high 14 points while shooting 63.6% from the field. Over the past six games, Williams is averaging 8.3 points per game while shooting 62.2%.

Veteran Courtney Vandersloot stuffed the stat sheet from all ends, notching nine points, five assists, four rebounds and two blocks. In her 13 minutes played, Rachel Banham put up a key eight points, three assists and three rebounds.
