Cleveland RTZ 2 wedge review — the brand-new 2026 wedges replacing the RTZ, built from second-generation Z-Alloy with five Roger Cleveland signature grinds.
We break down what's actually new: ZipCore iQ tuned to every loft and grind, HydraZip and UltiZip faces, and the return of the legendary 588 grind.
Stick around for our verdict on whether these really are the best wedges Cleveland has ever made — and which grind belongs in your bag.
The Cleveland RTZ 2 is the second generation of Cleveland's Z-Alloy blade wedges — a proprietary steel that's softer at impact, less dense, and far more durable, with Cleveland claiming better wet-spin retention and dramatically less groove wear over time. ZipCore iQ takes the tour-proven ZipCore hosel core and tunes it for every loft and grind combination, raising the sweet spot in the higher lofts for tighter dispersion on open-face shots. Roger Cleveland himself returned to the bench to redesign all five sole grinds — MID, FULL, LOW, the full-face ADAPT, and the reintroduced 588 — across lofts from 46° to 64°. We also cover the Tour Satin, Black Satin, and raw Tour Rack finishes, the stock Dynamic Gold Spinner Tour Issue shaft, and who each grind is actually built for, so you know exactly which RTZ 2 setup fits your game.
