Yankees Shake Up Front Office and Might Lose a Coach to the Astros

Yanks Go Yard hosts Adam Weinrib and Thomas Carannante break down the Yankees’ front office shake-up, with Brian Sabean and Omar Minaya out and bench coach Brad Ausmus interviewing for the Astros’ managerial job.

Is Brian Cashman making cosmetic changes, or clearing out familiar faces and mentors so he can pivot? We dig into Minaya’s reported connections to the Juan Soto trade and Max Fried signing, and what Ausmus’ interview with new Astros GM Randy Flores means. If Houston hires him, could that open the door for the Yankees to add a more complementary bench coach, like a Shelley Duncan promotion? We also lay out the best-case changes we could see before December, then close with a quick-hit debate: is any Yankees prospect truly untouchable, even if Elly De La Cruz were available?
