The Line I Crossing Scandinavia on Cannondale Synapse
Cycling
How do you come back down to earth after completing the kind of ultra‑distance ride you’ve been dreaming about forever? For Gustav Thuesen, the answer was simple: start planning the next one.
A to B. East to West.
After their previous 2,000km adventure How To Eat An Elephant—a week‑long ride from Copenhagen to Nice—Gustav and friends were ready to draw a new line. This time, the goal was different seas, a new direction, and a far tighter clock.
Starting in Stockholm on the edge of the Baltic Sea, Gustav and co‑pilot Emil pointed their bikes toward Bergen and the dark waters of the North Sea. The challenge? Cover the distance in under 72 hours. With no prior attempts on record, they coined a term for the mission: OKT — Only Known Time.
The route demanded everything—long, fast pavement, endless hours in the saddle, and stretches of “Sport Grus” (champagne gravel, for the rest of us). To go fast without sacrificing comfort, the choice was clear: Cannondale Synapse, paired with versatile 35mm tires for true all‑road capability.
Synapse wasn’t just about efficiency—it was about confidence. With SmartSense lights and radar always on board, Gustav and Emil could see, be seen, and stay alert through heavy traffic and long nights on the road.
This is The Line—a story about friendship, obsession, and pushing personal limits across an entire continent.
