Future-proofing a stadium starts long before opening day
Future-proofing a stadium starts long before opening day
We talked to Jason Tedder, CEO of In Production, about modular stadiums. The biggest shift is this:
More clubs are no longer asking, "Should we build permanent?"
They're asking, "How do we build smart enough to grow later?"
That changes everything.
Because the real value of modular isn't just speed.
It's flexibility.
You can start with 5,000 seats.
Build fan demand.
Add 2,000 more when the market is ready.
Move the structure if the club relocates.
Even reuse the same steel across multiple sites.
That kind of thinking matters.
Jason said one of the biggest mistakes is land locking yourself too early.
Not leaving room for expansion.
Not planning for the next phase before phase one is even done.
And honestly, that's not just a stadium lesson.
That's a business lesson.
Build for day one, yes.
But make sure day 1 doesn't box out day 1,000.
Worth thinking about.
