In honor of Veterans Day, ESPN’s E60 presents Pat Tillman: Life. Death. Legacy. Jeremy Schaap's fresh reporting and interviews put Tillman's impact into perspective, 20 years after his death by friendly fire in Afghanistan. Interviews include: Pat’s mother Mary “Dannie” Tillman; platoon mates Steven Elliott, Eric Godec, Don Lee, and Bryan O’Neal as well as former Secretary of the Army Pete Geren. Other interviews include Tillman’s former head coach Dave McGinnis and his former teammate and friend Jake Plummer. The members of Tillman’s platoon speak of the trauma and shame they’ve endured in the years since his death, and how they’ve tried to move forward. Tillman’s mother describes what she suspected, ultimately concluded and whether she's ever gotten closure. For a new generation unfamiliar with Tillman, as well as for the many for whom his story still resonates, E60 presents enlightening and compelling accounts of profound passion, ultimate sacrifice, and complex legacy.
