Cincinnati suffered a 30-27 loss at Pittsburgh in Week 3 despite its best offensive performance of the young season. Joe Burrow completed 28 of 37 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns without an interception, while Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins combined for 188 receiving yards and two scores. The Bengals finished with 352 total yards but were hurt by two lost fumbles, including one on their final possession.
Jacksonville arrives in Cincinnati after a convincing 35-6 victory over New England. The Jaguars are averaging 27 points per game and have continued the momentum they established during a 13-4 season in 2025 under head coach Liam Coen. Trevor Lawrence has opened 2026 with seven touchdown passes against two interceptions, a 107.8 passer rating and 7.6 yards per attempt. Jacksonville has also been aggressive downfield, with 37 percent of Lawrence's throws traveling between 10 and 20 yards.
That could challenge a Cincinnati defense that surrendered 411 yards and 7.0 yards per play against Pittsburgh. The Bengals have been effective at creating pressure without blitzing, generating pressure on 39.7 percent of opposing dropbacks while blitzing at an NFL-low 15.4 percent rate. Jacksonville counters with a balanced offense featuring running back Bhayshul Tuten, who has 204 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and receiver Parker Washington, who leads the Jaguars with 15 catches, 221 yards and two scores.
Jacksonville's defense presents another significant test. The Jaguars enter Week 4 allowing an NFL-low 12.0 points per game and just 91.3 rushing yards per contest. Jacksonville has not allowed an individual 75-yard rusher in 20 consecutive games. Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen headline the defensive front, while Travis Hunter has primarily played cornerback this season and recorded his first NFL interception last week.
Sunday also renews the history between Burrow and Lawrence, the No. 1 overall selections in consecutive NFL drafts who previously met in the 2020 national championship game. Lawrence is 0-3 against Cincinnati in his NFL career, with the Bengals the only AFC team he has yet to defeat. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Bengals have won four consecutive games in the series, including a 31-27 victory last season. The all-time series is tied 13-13, and each of the last four meetings has been decided by one score. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
