Freshman Maximus Williamson made a statement out of lane 8 last night, winning his first NCAA title in the 200 free in 1:30.03. In prelims, Williamson tied for 8th with his teammate David King, which would normally warrant a swim-off. However, King happily relinquished his spot to his teammate, having full faith that Williamson would put up a big swim. And he did just that.
