Mario Jerez and Erin Summers are joined by former All-Pro left tackle and soon-to-be Saints Hall of Famer Terron Armstead during New Orleans’ bye week. Terron calls the 2-5 start frustrating and points to the team’s wild inconsistency, including a strong rushing day against the Giants followed by just 18 rushing yards against the Steelers. He says his bye-week fix for the offensive line would come down to speed off the ball and physicality. Terron makes the case that Tyler Shough is the franchise QB, says the coaching staff must find ways to play to the roster’s strengths, and argues the Saints should still chase a run in a wide-open league, especially with Kelvin Banks Jr., Jordyn Tyson and Travis Etienne Jr. working back. He closes by reflecting on his rough first NFL start against Carolina in 2013, Drew Brees’ journey to the Hall of Fame, and what his Saints Hall of Fame induction means to him.
